Singer 31-15 industrial sewing machine. This machine is on a rare cast iron treadle like base that, instead of pumping your foot up and down on for continuous motion. This base has two pedals that move forward and back in a ratcheting motion. They can be used independently or together.I haven't been able to find anything about this base on line. But from what I can figure based on the industrial nature of the 31-15 machine on top is that this was for fine detail work or tailoring that required a lot of short runs with many changes in direction that could easily be done by lifting the foot with a pad that could be pushed to the side by the right knee. Please take a look at the pictures, the machine appears to work but looks to be missing some pieces. The metal base is in nice original shape, please look at the pictures for the condition of the wood top which measures approximately 40" by 20" by 29" tall with a 10" fold out extension.
