1903 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine

  

This Singer Sewing machine is a Model 15-30 with Serial Number K650655 and according to Singer's Serial Number Data Base was manufactured in 1903. The cabinet has been completely stripped of its original finish and restored to a beautiful condition.

The left and right side drawers are all of the original, but the middle drawer was missing so I made a new one copied from an original. The cabinet however had all kinds of issues with the original veneer and as such had to be completely stripped and I have applied new veneer which came out quite nicely as you can see from the pictures. The metal legs/frame were also wire brushed clean and repainted to an original like finish. The machine itself was carefully cleaned and oiled and now sews quite nicely. The belt was replaced with a new one. What makes this cabinet stand out are the nice bright brass drawer pulls as well as the brass hardware which all cleaned up to a bright finish.
