1909 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine. Model 66 With 7 Drawers. Very Ornate

  
This Singer Sewing machine is a Model 66 with Serial Number D968481 and according to Singer's Serial Number Data Base was manufactured in 1909. The cabinet has been completely stripped of its original finish. The veneer on the cabinet and lid top was in sad shape so I replaced it with new veneer and it came out better than I had expected and as such restored to a beautiful condition.

The metal legs/frame were also wire brushed clean and repainted to an original like finish. The machine itself was carefully cleaned and oiled and now sews quite nicely. As you can see from the pictures, the decals are still very nice. The belt was replaced with a new one.

With proper care this could last into the next century. These machines are all metal and very durable not like todays with a lot of plastic parts.
