The metal legs/frame were also wire brushed clean and repainted to an original like finish. The machine itself was carefully cleaned and oiled and now sews quite nicely. The belt was replaced with a new one.
What makes this cabinet rather unique is that it is made from walnut wood unlike most others which are oak. With proper care this could last well into the next century.
