The oddest thing about this machine is that holes were drilled into the bed of the machine. Best guess is that this was done so it could be attached to the case. I also think it began it's life as a treadle and graduated to a hand crank when they moved it into the case. I know little else about this machine other than it is in decent condition given it's age (100+ years old). Paint has wear and clear coat missing in areas.
Decals are in decent shape. Mechanically, it seems to be good although I'm not an expert. It is now in a bentwood case that fits properly. The case has some scratches/scuffs and has one area that someone has patched, but otherwise solid. Hand crank has some rust on parts of the metal but turns well.It sews a nice stitch. It is capable of sewing heavy fabric and leather and also less-beefy materials. This is an excellent machine for someone wishing to restore a beautiful Red Eye. Despite the drill holes in the bed this is a wonderful addition to any collection. Please reference photographs for more detailed description.
