Enjoy what is being offered for sale. Runs on electricity and is a portable electric chain stitch machine.
It is a great find for collectors of sewing machines, especially those interested in vintage originals. The machine is made in the United States. She is heavy, weighing 19 lb. 5.5 ounces on my postal scale, not including the foot pedal. I have plugged it in and depressed the foot pedal and the needle shaft moves as it should, proving that it does run. A kind eBayer wrote to say that this little machine can do embroidery work and also run stretchy wolly nylon thread really well. There is no needle and the light bulb needs replacing. I was told it is missing the thread spool pin and cap. I cannot verify this one way or another. I bought it simply on visual appeal -- and it definitel has that! Underneath the machine bed it states Simanco U. With the numbers 346_ _. I cannot read the last two numbers. There are another set of numbers located by the plug-in that reads 8740842. It is in nice overall previously owned and enjoyed vintage condition. I doubt it has been used for its actual purpose for decades. Note about 4 of the decal has been rubbed off from previous use.I want to point out that the electrical wiring that runs in front of the oval Singer emblem is frayed and in need of replacing if you are planning on using her for her intended purpose. The original cord on the foot pedal looks good but you can never go wrong updating/replacing vintage electrical cords. When will you ever find another?
