This Singer 401a Sewing Machine has been cleaned inside and out, serviced, and fully lubricated, motor has been rebuilt. It's in fair condition and sews beautifully. The machine is in good condition.

The machine is in fair condion, there are 3 large paint chips and nicks on the handwheel as pictured. Includes cord, pedal, 1 cam, pack of 10 needles and 10 bobbins. Serial number is NA830827 built in the late 1950s/early 1960s.

The 401s were some of the last all metal machines they built. With a little care, this machine will still be running in another 60 years. Feel free to ask questions!

The condition is based on cosmetics. We will not sell a machine that does not sew well! All machines undergo the following (at a minimum). Motor is removed, disassembled, cleaned. Brushes are replaced if necessary.

Motor is reassembled and tested. The following parts are removed and degreased.

Parts are replaced if necessary. Front and back cam fingers. All parts not removed are cleaned and degreased, lint and debris are blown out with air. Brass plates removed and polished. Logo and model are polished in place.

Tension assembly is removed, disassembled and cleaned. Foot pedal is disassembled and cleaned. Case is detailed using mild cleaner.

Painted parts are cleaned with a mild cleaner. Bobbin winder tire replaced if necessary.

Bed cushions are replaced if necessary (rubber feet). Machine is reassembled, lubricated, adjusted and tested.
