Very rarely does an antique Singer 66 - aka "Red Eye" - sewing machine become available in the condition this one is in - both sewing machine and cabinet are absolutely beautiful! The sewing machine looks barely used; still has a high shine and the decals are in near-perfect condition. The tiger oak in the cabinet is also in wonderful condition. There is a rectangular section underneath the cover (directly over the opening where the sewing machine is located) that has a slight texture to it.
There is no peeling or chipped veneer or missing pieces of wood. All SEVEN drawers are fully functioning and very clean. You will appreciate the smoothness of the treadle! Comes with the attachment box (most of the attachments appear original to the machine), four original bobbins, and a wooden Bates needle case with a few odd needles inside. The original manual is for all model 66's (this particular model is a 66-4, with side-clamping attachments and a button that pops the bobbin for removal).
The bobbin winder and stitch length screw work perfectly. The serial number GO935409 gives the date of manufacture of July 8, 1924.Please - no international buyers.
