I have up for sale a wonderful antique vintage original circa 1894 Singer Parlor or Drawing Room Eastlake Oak Cabinet Vibrating Shuttle Sewing Machine. I believe that the machine is a model 27 with a Plain Faceplate and low position bobbin winder. A friendly Ebayer with Mucho Expertise in these matters told me that it was a Model 27, as I had mistakenly called it a Model 28 when I first listed it.
The serial number is 11922007 which dates the manufacture to early 1894. The machine has a gorgeous floral pattern decal that I believe is called "Persian". The cabinet is gorgeous as you can see.
It has eastlake lines with a very eye appealing diamond pattern design. The right side has a hidden door that opens from pushing out from the inside - no knob or handle. The treadle function works as it should. I know nothing about the other functions of the machine, its untested in that respect. The two small drawers above the treadle section push in to allow more room for your legs when in use.
The machine weighs approx 125 lbs - measures approx 34-1/4" wide x 17-5/8" deep x 31 tall. This is an old well used machine, it has plenty of character and minor imperfections. Its was definitely well used but still looks very nice.
Its old and well used with imperfections and lots of character. With that said it has a gorgeous cabinet that I tend to think is a fairly hard to find model. I do not remember seeing this exact model before.
