Vintage 1948 221 Black Singer Featherweight Portable Sewing Machine/Accessories

  

1948 Singer Featherweight 221 Sewing Machine with Celtic Knot decals. Decals are intact for the most part.

Please see photos as they form part of the description. There are some scratches commensurate with use, particularly a few needle scratches in front of the work area.

There are areas where the shellac has blistered off. Again, take notice of this through the photos. I still managed a shine in these areas. This sewing machine has been serviced-all oiling and grease points have been addressed including cleaning out and refilling the motor grease ports.

The sewing machine has been cleaned and de-linted. A new felt drip pad has been installed as has new lamp wiring, LED bulb and a new belt. The foot controller has been tested and adjusted as well as being rewired. The machine's cushion feet have been replaced.

The sewing machine has been tested and makes a nice, balanced stitch. This sewing machine comes with oil and grease to keep up maintenance. It also comes with a manual and attachments as well as the usual two screwdrivers. Also included are five vintage and five new bobbins. The manual is not original but a facsimile. The sewing machine has a Centennial badge. The case is in fair condition. On one corner, the Tolex has been torn away to reveal the wood. There is one area where the Tolex covering is wavy.

That is, it has come away from the wood base. I glued it back the best I could. Lastly, the fabric is coming away from the bottom of the case. I didn't address this as although still intact, the fabric shrunk and will probably have to be replaced altogether. It isn't necessary to maintain the integrity of the case.
