THIS IS A REALLY GREAT OLD MACHINE. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL OF THESE OVER THE YEARS REALLY UGLY ONES! THEY WERE DEPENDABLE, CONSISTENT AND TOUGH. I HAD NEVER SEEN ONE WITH A TREADLE BASE UNTIL THIS ONE. IT HAD BEEN REFURBISHED AND JUST NEEDED A NEW BELT AND THE TIMING ADJUSTED.
IT NOW SEWS NICELY AND WILL GO THROUGH MULTIPLE LAYERS OF CANVAS, DENIM, PACK CLOTH OR DENIM. I HAVE DONE SIMPLE UPHOLSTERY, CANVAS AWNINGS, COOLER COVERS, WEBBING AND ALL SORTS OF OUTDOOR GEAR REPAIRS. THE STITCH LENGTH WILL GO FROM VERY SMALL TO ABOUT 5 PER INCH! PARTS ARE STILL VERY AVAILABLE AND THIS ONE DOESN'T EVER NEED ELECTRICITY. IT IS A PERFECT PREPPER MACHINE. IT IS ALSO QUITE WELL-MANNERED AND HOUSE TRAINED. THE TABLE TOP FOLDS OUT FROM BOTH THE SIDE AND THE BACK, SO IT GIVES ENOUGH SPACE TO USE AS A DESK.I THINK IT WOULD LOOK NICE IN THE LIVING ROOM.
